A Cajun Style Engagement Party

We had a fantastic Easter weekend, complete with our engagement party crawfish boil on Saturday. Of course, I let the crafting bug get the best of me and couldn't help but throw together a few ideas. Here are a few photos of my favorite party details:

Here is the party invite - after falling in love with a really similar one on
Pinterest I recreated this one in photoshop.

I also tried this great tutorial for arranging flowers in a pitcher with lemons. I was way easier than I expected and made a great spring time arrangement.

We used some simple sunflowers in mason jars throughout the party to bring some extra color to keep the red and white from getting overwhelming.

For party favors we picked up a some adorable Louisiana themed cookie cutters - alligators, Louisianas and crawfish

Found a this great idea for turning dollar store trays into chalkboards on Pinterest and I was so excited to have a practical reason to try it. Also, we were really looking forward to hanging up our Jazzfest flag for the occasion!

I also made my first attempt at a deco-mesh garland for the mantle - complete with jute burlap ribbon and those adorable little crawfish beads.

We had a delicious sweet tea mixed with Kentucky bourbon, along with a strawberry infused vodka lemonade. I was also really happy to find these little crawfish drink stirrers and red paper straws.

As a last minute storage solution for crawfish trays we tied some left over ribbon to a couple of matching laundry baskets.

Also, in true easter fashion, Daniel and I both wore seersucker to celebrate the occasion.  I ordered a matching seersucker kooise from etsy with my new monogram (Shhh, I know I'm early). Major shoutout to The Monogram Monkey or getting it to me early, just in time for the party!

We had a fantastic spring time afternoon with all of our friends and family! Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate with us and a special thank you to Daniel's mom Pam for hosting such a great event!

Just another beautiful day of #LouisianaSpring! Soak it up y'all!
